You have GOT to eat at Keller’s Kove restaurant, while you’re staying at Mockingbird Bay Resort. It’s just a short pontoon ride around the bend from us — and Gloria will give you the meal of your life!
Frank and I, and our guests from the Log House, Bruce and Diana, puttered over to Keller’s Kove by pontoon during a horrendous wind storm, braving the high seas (and a couple of rogue waves that soaked Bruce), and risking life-and-limb! It was a heart-pounding lake adventure for sure — but we’d do it all over again in a heartbeat for the meals we had!
A lovely fresh green salad with radishes, onions, carrots, tomato; warm homemade wheat and white bread; and Texas Toothpicks (fried jalapeno and fried onions) started us off. Everything was delicious!
Check out the prime rib! Pictures do not lie…It was unbelievable. The taste was as big as the portion, which was MONSTROUS. (Frank loves Gloria’s prime rib rub…which, by the way, is a top-secret recipe.) The meals were FABULOUS! My BBQ chicken was flavorful and tender, and enough to feed 3 people.
To top it all off, you must try some of Gloria’s dad’s homemade cheesecake…Mouthwateringly tasty!
So y’all should make time to eat at Keller’s Kove Restaurant. It’s a wonderful dining experience and a fun lake adventure. Remember to call for reservations first — 800-832-5668…And tell them Mockingbird Bay Resort sent you!
