Lucas Zortman, 1985-2011

Thank you to all of our friends and family for their support and kind words and prayer during this very difficult time. Lucas lost his battle with drug addiction and passed away Tuesday, September 20th, in Philadelphia, PA. His ashes will be sent to us shortly, and his burial will be private. He was a son, brother, grandson, friend, boyfriend — funny and smart, hardworking and generous. He struggled with drugs for years and was clean on-and-off, but they finally took his life. We are all very heartbroken, but also thankful for the 26 years he had on this Earth. We will remember the good times, the laughing, the love, and we will cherish the happy memories…
Thank you all for your well wishes.
Sincerely,
The Zortman Family

May he rest in peace. xox

Again, my deepest sympathy to you and your family. Just remember that Lucas did not die alone. Brittany did not leave his side at the hospital. She loved him dearly and is devastated. We both miss him so much. Time will heal the many broken hearts. May he rest in peace. Judy Migliaccio

Luke and I were great friends in high school. We didn’t keep in touch, and I was devastated to learn today about his passing. Please accept my condolences and know that I cherish the time we spent together.

Thanks Brian…I’m sorry for your loss, too. It’s been a year and a half, and we still find ourselves in tears on occasion. It was a senseless loss. 😦 But we remember the good times and the laughs. Lucas could be so funny! Thanks for your note. It means a lot to us.
